7.6 Hot-Swap Drive Bay Electronics

The hot-swap SATA backplane board set supports the following features:

• Hot-swapping of SATA drives, which allows connection of SATA devices while the

system is powered on.

• Management and monitoring functions conforming to the SATA 1.0 Specification

7.6.1 SATA Board Layout

The following figure shows the layout of components and connectors on the hot-swap SATA

backplane printed circuit board set. Note that many of the sites are not populated and do not

affect the functionality of the SATA backplane.
